Denver’s Only Circus New Year’s Eve Luxury Gatsby Experience

Under the Circus Big Top at The Cottonwood Club offers a non-stop entertainment lineup including acclaimed Circus, Music, Drag, Comedy, Burlesque, DJ and Tap Dance Acts - all inspired by the 1920s.

DENVER, CO (Dec. 18, 2019) – In June, Give 5 Productions launched a series of 1920s speakeasy inspired events called The Cottonwood Club - scandalous evenings that transport guests to an era of impeccable dress, flowing libations and laissez-faire attitudes.

On Tuesday, December 31, the Club will be transformed into the first annual Under the 1920s Circus Big Top New Year’s Eve. Guests will enjoy a fantastical and luxurious carnival and speakeasy experience complete with non-stop live entertainment, curated cocktails, culinary delights and live music and dancing.

Eight circus acts from Circus Foundry, DJ Fusion Band Black Iris Collective, 1920s swing band Deja Swing, acclaimed tap dancing troupe The Honey Taps, national headlining comic Heath Hyche, drag queens Jessica L’Whor and Evelyn Evermoore; and acclaimed burlesque performer Bang Bang Von Loola will perform 1920s inspired featured performances.

There will also be decadent carnival carts with gourmet sweet and savory treats,  eight bars, birdcages with beautiful dancers, a champagne glass filled dress donned by drag queens, a confetti celebration at midnight, a “best-dressed” contest, luxury prize drawing, gorgeous Gatsby decor, numerous photo opportunities and booths and more.

The Cottonwood Club features the VIP Champagne Lounge as an exclusive option for their most discerning guests. This lounge is a private area that offers guests a prime view of the live entertainment, an exclusive bar and swanky lounge atmosphere complete with plush seating, sexy lighting and velvet ropes. VIP guests will be treated to top shelf libations, an endless charcuterie grazing feast and passed desserts.

Guests must be a minimum of 21 years old and are encouraged to get creative and don their best 1920s inspired flapper, cocktail or formal attire. Black tie attire and long gowns are highly encouraged on New Year’s Eve. At minimum, cocktail attire is required. The dress code is strict.

$200 gift certificates to the Relâche Spa, tickets to ICE, the live holiday show at the brand new Gaylord Rockies, bottles of Moët & Chandon, overnight stays at the Moxy Hotel in Cherry Creek, local goods and more have been awarded to the costume contest and drawing winners at past Cottonwood Clubs.

The EXDO Event Center in RiNo, 1399 35th Street Denver, CO 80205, is the perfect venue for the New Year’s Eve celebration. With plenty of space for guests, all the entertainment, aerial rigging points galore, a huge dance floor, large indoor entry area and very capable bar staff.

“With everyone looking for a Roaring Twenties party this New Year’s Eve, we are so proud of the incredibly unique qualities The Cottonwood Club has to offer,” said Julia Tobey, Give 5 Productions founder and producer. “We wanted our club to feel authentic and fantastical at the same time, not the cheesy version of a Gatsby experience. We love immersing our guests into another world by gathering an amazing group of unique performers from right here in Colorado. ”

Acclaimed planner, Angela Johnston of Sapphire Celebrations, helms the customer care and decor team.

With regular performances in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, female flapper-inspired tap troupe The Honey Taps made their Denver debut at The Cottonwood Club. The performers go all out harkening a bygone era with a nostalgic wink to flappers of the 1920s and bubbly chorus girls of the swinging 1930s and 1940s.

Taking the party to another level, literally, Circus Foundry delights guests with traditional and modern circus acts. The Denver-based professional super troupe sells out shows across the state, showcasing circus talents including aerialists, acrobats, hoopers, hand-balancers, fire throwers and belly dancers.

The Black Iris Collective, a female led DJ fusion band, provides the captivating soundtrack to the evening. Inspired by contemporary electro swing artists like Caravan Palace, Caro Emerald and Earl, and the reinvention of Today’s Top 40 by Postmodern Jukebox; this band brings together the unique tight knit harmony of three female vocalists with funny banter and Gatsby style. The talented artists keep guests dancing and entertained all night long.

The soirée starts with cocktails, music from Deja Swing and dancing at 8 p.m. with featured acts starting at 9 p.m. and continuing until 2:00 am. Early bird tickets are sold out. General Admission, Private Tables and VIP tickets can still be purchased from $120 - 600 at CottonwoodClubDenver.com
